Usefulness of 3D Transthoracic Echocardiography in the Diagnosis of Congenital Left Ventricular Aneurysm

چکیده
A 29 year-old male without any risk factors for coronary artery disease presented with symptomatic sustained ventricular tachycardia. 2-Dimensional (2D) Transthoracic Echocardiogram (TTE) did not reveal any abnormality. When we did a 3-Dimensional (3D) echocardiogram, a small Left Ventricular (LV) aneurysm was detected near the outflow tract. After catheter ablation, the patient was discharged without any anti-arrhythmic therapy. Figure 1: 3 – dimensional echocardiogram showing the congenital aneurysm of left ventricle. Isolated Left Ventricular Noncompaction with a Congenital Aneurysm Presenting with Recurrent Embolism
Isolated left ventricular noncompaction (LVNC) is a rare disorder caused by embryonic arrest of compaction. LVNC is sometimes associated with other congenital cardiac disorders; however, there have been few reports of its coexistence with a left ventricular aneurysm. A 40-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital for renal infarction. She had a history of embolic cerebral infarction 10 years ...

Sinus of valsalva aneurysm, is a rare congenital defect and the diagnosis is usually made after it ruptures. The anomaly often involves the right coronary sinus and is less frequent in the noncoronary sinus. The rupture of the left sinus of valsalva into the pulmonary artery is extremely rare. So far, few cases with ruptured left sinus of valsalva have been reported. We are reporting a ruptur...

Congenital aneurysms of the left ventricle (LV) are rare cardiac abnormalities and in most instances, are asymptomatic. However, some patients may present cardiac rupture, tamponade, ventricular arrhythmias, and eventually sudden death. Herein, we describe a case of a 64-year-old male patient who was hospitalized for critical limb ischaemia because of an acute embolic event. Transthoracic contr...

Aneurysms of sinus of Valsalva are rare cardiac abnormalities. They are dilatations of the aortic sinuses and are classified as congenital or acquired. If located in the right coronary sinus they are usually ruptured into right heart chambers and frequently a ventricular septal defect coexists with this condition. This paper reports a 30-year-old woman with ruptured aneurysm of the right sinus ...

INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES Ruptured sinus of Valsalva aneurysm to right cardiac chambers is an uncommon lesion in Western countries. The prognosis is usually serious unless the condition is promptly treated surgically. For this reason an accurate anatomical and functional evaluation is necessary. The main purpose of this report is to compare the usefulness of multiplane transesophageal echocar...
